4 Tips for Setting Up a Facebook Page for Your Business

  1. Create a Facebook Page – NOT a Profile
Fan pages are different than user profiles. You can have a Profile for yourself, Doctor Jones, but your practice/business must have a Page.
  2. Choose Your Name Wisely – You Only Get One Shot
Facebook pages are now included within the search index, which means that individuals searching for your business online have the potential of finding your Facebook page in addition to your website.  With this in mind, incorporate both your first and last name plus the practice’s name if applicable.  Once you pick your name it’s set forever, so take some time to ponder this when setting your page up.
  3. Provide a Link from Your Website Homepage to Your Facebook Page  (and vice versa)
Statistics suggest that users are on Facebook even more than traditional email.  If you can lead website visitors to your Facebook page to “become a fan” of your practice, you just gained a new channel of communication.
  4. Fill out ALL of the Information Fields
With Facebook being the modern day word-of-mouth, the more information you can provide about your practice the better – because you never know who might suggest your page to a friend who is looking for your services!
