Facebook Leapfrogs Yahoo, Still Behind Google in Online Video

While Google remains at the top of online video rankings thanks in large part to YouTube, Facebook gathered nearly 59 million of the 178 million U. S. internet users watching videos online to overtake Yahoo for the #2 spot. According to the data comScore, Inc. released today, September 30, 2010 concerning Online Video Viewing in August 2010, Facebook had 58.2 million unique video viewers for a total of 243 million viewing sessions. In total, the U. S. internet audience engaged in more than 5.2 billion viewing sessions, with an average of 14.3 hours per viewer. But how does this impact the online presence of the aesthetic practice?

In general, the numbers alone reinforce the need for fully-optimized video content within your website and search engine marketing campaign. Specifically however, the success of video on Facebook not only demonstrates the essential role website promotion through social media optimization plays in the performance of your virtual practice, but also the need for fresh video content, optimized with your patients and Facebook fans in mind.
